I'm a graphic designer, illustrator, published author, and copywriter.

My name is Wes.

My background, mostly in the non-profit sector, has given me the opportunity to create all types of projects, from modern and professional, to fun and whimsical.

BOOK DESIGN/ILLUSTRATIONS

This is the cover for my second fantasy novel. It is 100% hand illustrated, created digitally in Affinity Designer.

Custom character bookmarks I hand illustrated featuring the three main characters from my fantasy series.

This was a piece of a social campaign used for a book release. It was a weeklong countdown to the release of the first novel.

This is the cover to a children’s book about a ship captain and her adventure to find buried treasure. It is almost completely hand illustrated.

This is the climatic scene of the book, a full spread of the ship captain’s encounter with the one-eyed kraken. Completely hand-illustrated using a mixture of vector and raster brushes.

DIGITAL DESIGN

Primary digital graphic for a community family event. This graphic would be used as a primary advertisement in house, but also for social promotion and social ads.

The graphics above are used as a social post (Facebook and Instagram) to help remind a church congregation about an important take away, or “Big Idea” from a pastor’s Sunday sermon. This is a weekly graphic that is scheduled every Monday morning.

This was a fun, Instagram story to help promote a community Christmas concert.

This digital graphic was part of a social media ad campaign to promote the release of my first novel. Included is a book mockup.

These three graphics were part of an Instagram campaign for a startup publishing company. They feature a modern, minimalist approach, as is the company’s style.

This graphic was another promotion for the same Christmas concert. This graphic was promoted in house on an ultra wide screen. Dimensions for this style are 2400x720 pixels. This graphic shows a second variation of the same event, yet still including all the prudent information.

PRINT DESIGN/LOGOS/MISC

My approach to this print booklet/brochure was simplicity. This print is given to first-time guests seeking more information about the organization. It’s simple, concise; explains who the organization is, their identity, and how to learn more. It follows the organization’s brand guidelines, utilizing their specific color scheme and font styles.

Two Merles Publishing. The owner created the company and named it after his two “merle-colored” dogs. The design represents two sweeping tails.

This logo design was created for a church called Grace Church. The “G” was previously created, so I elevated the original.

I was contracted to make this logo for an international school. It was part of a pitch deck comprising of multiple logo options and explanations of each.

Keep the good times rollin’! Another incredibly fun project, used as the primary sign for a Skee Ball game. I decided on an aggressive, sharp sports logo style with block lettering and heavy outlines. I also wanted to give the sign a lot of motion, as if the balls were racing down the signage itself; something that would entice someone to come and play.

The international school that contracted me for their logo returned to contract my services for two promotional banners. Both graphics above were printed and used at recruitment marketing school fairs internationally. Banner sizes were 80x33.5

This project features a lettering style logo I created for a singles conference. The name, "Solo Memos", represents the logo. I created some negative letters within the name to help give it a modern touch.

This album cover was an incredibly fun project. This was the proof layout for a bluegrass album. Bottom panels are the outer case, upper panels were the inside. This project was a mix of several styles including minimalist and vintage. I create the vector church and the stained glass windows, combining an image of real stained glass with the vector panes. This project accompanied a concert and was available for purchase. It was well received.
